Capping off a bustling week of a 65th Cannes Film Festival, Nicole Kidman and Clive Owen assimilated army for a premiere of “Hemingway Gellhorn” on Friday night (May 25).
The good looking co-stars were also accompanied by associate castmate Rodrigo Santoro and executive Philip Kaufman during a glitzy Palais des Festivals screening of their HBO film production.
Per a synopsis, “Hemingway Gellhorn” is “a play centered on a intrigue between Ernest Hemingway and WWII match Martha Gellhorn, Hemingway’s impulse for For Whom a Bell Tolls and a usually lady who ever asked for a divorce from a writer.”
Noting that removing a full Cannes diagnosis for a TV film isn’t an typical occurrence, Kaufman told Deadline, “I don’t consider they have ever finished this with an American film before. There was Carlos that was a miniseries done for French TV though Olivier Assayas is Cahiers Du Cinema and this is a French film festival. What an respect for me for a film done for radio to be comparison here. we know HBO is thrilled.”
